Biography
2015 Season
Jung "Youngbin" Young-bin joined Team Liquid Academy as a mid laner in May of 2015. TLA competed in the 2015 NA CS Summer Qualifier but they lost 2-1 in the semifinals of Bracket A to Misfits.
2016 Season
TLA played in the 2016 NA CS Spring Qualifier where they 3-0'd Team Frostbite to qualify for the 2016 NACS Spring Season. Following an announcement that all members of the Academy team would also be active substitutes of the main Team Liquid roster, the organization swapped Dardoch and Matt off the Academy team for the NACS season. They finished in fourth place, narrowly making the playoffs after winning an automatic tiebreaker against Dream Team but then lost to Apex Gaming 3-1. After the split ended, Team Liquid Academy rebuilt their roster, and Youngbin left. He eventually joined college team UC Irvine in September.
2017 Season
Youngbin remained with UC Irvine for 2017. However, in February, he rejoined Team Liquid as a bot laner, after the struggling team swapped Piglet to mid lane to replace Goldenglue, who took a leave of absence from the team. Youngbin made his LCS debut in Week 6 of the spring season. Although Liquid went 1-1 in series with Youngbin, breaking a four series loss streak, he looked shaky and fell behind his lane opponent by 100 or more CS in three of the six games he played. In response, Team Liquid acquired Doublelift on loan from TSM, and Youngbin moved to substitute. He remained listed on the team's roster for the remainder of the year, but aside from a brief stint with a reformed Team Liquid Academy in the NACS 2017 Summer Open Qualifiers, didn't play in another game. He eventually returned to UC Irvine.
