University of Waterloo is a university in Waterloo, Ontario.
History
2017
University of Waterloo's introductory season was the 2017 uLoL East Conference where they went undefeated in their group with a 5-0 record and advancing to the conference playoffs. There they faced Vanier College and lost 1-2. After an early exit in playoffs Ambushes and GamerXZ left the team.
2018
In the following year the team picked up BTM, Foxlooo and Ino1 to play jungle, mid, and bot lane as substitute respectively for the 2018 CLOL East Conference. Waterloo also saw the previous year's Bot Laner Platoon flex between jungle and bot lane when needed. Despite changing a majority of their roster, the team managed to go 5-1 which qualified them for the conference playoffs. Entering the next stage, Waterloo rearranged their roster again with their support Scherb moving to mid and platoon moving to support. In spite of these changes, Waterloo beat Ryerson University in the Quarterfinals 3-1 and continued to the Semifinals where they lost 3-1 to University of Ottawa. Several months underwent another round of roster changes with Lyo joining as jungler after BTM's departure, Scherb moving back to support, Platoon moving to substitute and coach, and CptShrimps joining to play mid.
2019
Before their season started Platoon moved back to starting bot laner, Ino1 moved to substitute Ilyfue joined from the school's JV team as substitute bot laner. In the 2019 CLOL East Conference, Waterloo once again managed to qualify for conference playoffs with a 5-1 record. The team decided not to use Ino1 or Ilyfue in the rest of their 2019 season. In Quarterfinals the team managed to get revenge on University of Ottawa, beating them 3-1; in Semifinals the team faced SUNY Stony Brook beating them 3-2. After making conference finals for the first time in school history, they were defeated by Western University 3-1 and were then sent to play in the 2019 College Championship Play-In facing other top teams across North America. Waterloo was placed in Group A where they finished 1st with an undefeated 7-0 record, thus automatically qualifying for the 2019 CLOL Championship. In the month between the end of Play-Ins and the beginning of the Championship, the team brought back BTM as coach. Even with this additional pickup, Waterloo lost to University of Illinois 2-1 in the Quarterfinals ending their season. In preparation for next years season, the team underwent more roster swaps. Lyo moved to top, BTM rejoined the starting roster as jungler and renamed to easy 10, Platoon moved back to coach, and Ino1 moved back to starting bot laner; Ilyfue and Shawner left.
