The Walking Zed, abbreviated TWZ, is a newly formed North American League of Legends team announced in November 2013. The roster reformed under a new title after being removed from their position with the Gold Gaming LA (ggLA organization. TWZ lost their spot in the North American Challenger League with ggLA, but retained their roster's seed in the Spring Promotion Tournament to compete for a spot in the next season of the North American LCS.
History[]
Formation of TWZ[]
After a loss in the first promotion tournament qualifier, and a losing record in the North American Challenger League halfway through the season, the Gold Gaming LA organization decided to create a new challenger team. Bischu, NydusHerMain, KOR Kez, and Yazuki were removed and decided to keep competing under a new name, losing otter in the process. The players instead picked up bobbyhankhill, formerly a teammate of NydusHerMain on Team Astral Poke, to fill out their roster to compete at the Spring Promotion Tournament and possibly a spot in the North American League Championship Series under a new name, The Walking Zed.
At the December promotion tournament, TWZ faced Team Coast, the winners of the North American Challenger League. Despite being heavy underdogs, The Walking Zed took Coast to five games before losing 2-3. The next day, Mid laner Bishu announced via Facebook that the team would remain together and compete in the Coke League.
