Biography[]
2014 Season[]
Zhu "TBQ" Yong-Quan joined LGD Gaming as a jungler under the name "Quan". He played with the team during Demacia Cup Season 1 but they lost in the first round 2-0 to OMG. They performed decently during the 2014 LPL Spring Season, placing fifth and missing playoffs but re-earning their spot in the 2014 LPL Summer Season. They were knocked out extremely early in Demacia Cup Season 2, losing 2-1 to Team RM in the very first round. LGD placed fourth in LPL summer and managed to qualify for the 2014 LPL Summer Playoffs. Unfortunately, they failed to win a single game, losing 3-0 to both EDward Gaming and Star Horn Royal Club. LGD managed to make it to the 2014 Season China Regional Finals but were knocked out in the second round with a 2-1 loss to OMG.
2015 Season[]
At the beginning of the new season, Quan changed his name to "TBQ". LGD's first full tournament of the year was the 2015 Demacia Cup Spring Season where they made the quarterfinals but lost 3-0 to Invictus Gaming. Shortly afterwards, they finished the 2015 LPL Spring Regular Season in sixth place and advanced to the 2015 LPL Spring Playoffs. LGD upset both OMG and Snake eSports 3-0 to face EDward Gaming in the finals. The series went the distance to a full five games but LGD ultimately lost the series 3-2 to EDG.
LGD became feared in China but they were upset 3-0 by OMG in the 2015 Demacia Cup Summer Season. LGD placed fifth in the 2015 LPL Summer Regular Season and qualified for the Seeding Match of the 2015 LPL Summer Playoffs. They fought their way to the finals, even upsetting EDG 3-0 along the way. LGD beat the Qiao Gu Reapers 3-2 in the finals to qualify for the 2015 Season World Championship as the top seed from China. LGD was placed in a group alongside Team SoloMid, Origen, and KT Rolster. Unfortunately, they ended with a 2-4 record and were knocked out of the tournament.
2016 Preseason[]
LGD were the fan-voted team to attend IEM San Jose. They were knocked out in the first round, losing 2-0 to Team SoloMid.
2016 Season[]
Upon joining OMG before the Spring Split, he was not listed on the roster until Week 2. TBQ then renamed himself back to Quan. Despite good performances in the 2016 LPL Spring Season, OMG finished 5th in their group and had to play in the Summer Promotion tournament. They were able to easily re-qualify for the LPL with a win over Energy Pacemaker. All in a 3-0 sweep. In May of 2016 Quan left OMG and joined IN Gaming in the LSPL. The summer season of the LSPL went fine for IN Gaming as they finished 5th place with 15 wins and 11 losses. This however wasn't enough to qualify them for the playoffs.
2017 Season[]
In the 2017 LSPL Spring Season IN Gaming finished at the bottom of the standings in 9th place. They had to attend the LSPL Spring Relegations and lost their LSPL spot after a 2-3 defeat to Mighty Eagle. Quan left IN Gaming in April and later in July he joined Newbee. The summer season in the LPL was okay for Newbee. They placed 3rd in their group with 9 wins and 7 losses. In the playoffs they swept Snake Esports 3-0 in the first round but then got swept themselves 0-3 by Team WE in the Quarterfinals.
Trivia[]
- The name "TBQ" comes from when LGD was sponsored by Chinese site Taobao, and his in-game name during tournaments would be LGDTaoBao.Quan or LGDTaoBaoQuan. The name stuck, so he decided to rename himself TBQ at the start of 2015.
- Announced retirement on January 2, 2018, however two weeks later announced to join Victorious Gaming.
