The Season One World Championship is the conclusion of the first League of Legends competitive season.

Overview

Format

  • 8 teams participate
  • Group Stage
    • Teams are divided into two groups of four
    • Single Round Robin
    • Matches are best of one
    • 2nd and 3rd place from each group qualify for Relegation Round of Playoffs
    • 1st place from each group qualify for Semifinals of Playoffs
  • Playoffs
    • Double elimination
      • Relegation Round is single elimination
    • Matches are best of three
    • 2nd place teams get 1-0 advantage in Relegation Round
      • Losers of Relegation Round face each other in a best of one tiebreaker for 5th place
      • Winners of teams who played each other in Upper Bracket get 1-0 start in rematches
