Samsung Blue is a Korean League of Legends team sponsored by Samsung Electronics. It was formerly known as MVP Blue.
History[]
Season 3[]
In September of 2013, MVP Blue was picked up by the Samsung Organization to form Samsung Blue. The roster consisted of Cheonju, Spirit, easyhoon, Deft, Sense, FLahm, and SuNo
2014 Season[]
Samsung Blue first gained recognition when they defeated SK Telecom T1 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2013 WCG Qualifiers. However they lost in the finals 2-1 to CJ Entus Blaze. Blue continued their success in the 2014 when they made it out of groups at PANDORA.TV Champions Winter 2013-2014. They then ran into the undefeated SK Telecom T1 K and were knocked out of the tournament 3-0 by them. However, Blue truly made their mark when they defeated NaJin White Shield 3-1 in the finals of HOT6iX Champions Spring 2014 to bring Samsung its first OGN victory. Blue's hot streak continued at HOT6iX Champions Summer 2014 but this time falling in the finals 3-2 to the KT Rolster Arrows. The team's strong season granted them the top Korean seed to the 2014 Season World Championship. Blue was one of the favorites coming into Worlds but their sister team, Samsung White, knocked them out 3-0 in the semifinals of the tournament. Due to changes in the OGN rules, White and Blue merged to form Samsung but none of the former players returned.
