Biography[]
Luke "RoseBND" Joosten was introduced to League of Legends by one of his cousins in late 2013. He loved the game, but had trouble understanding it as he was still 12 years old at this time. As time went on and the game evolved, so did Rose's passion for the game. It turned from a game that he would play for fun with his friends, to something much more serious. Rose got in touch with League's esports scene around season 5, mostly following the bigger leagues like the NA and EU LCS. The competitive gaming scene intrigued him a lot, but he was never good enough to properly compete himself.
Around late 2020, Rose started to develop a passion for casting. He would stream and cast multiple amateur matches for the student association TSEA Link, an esports association founded by current LCK caster Maurits "Chronicler" Meeusen. These amateur casts led him to Thomas "ThomSonic" Legebeke, who asked him to join the streams of Team THRLL and the Open Tour Benelux.
Rose covered most of the Open Tour Benelux 2021 Summer Split together with Matthijs "Deurmat" de Rijke. After getting more familiar with casting and having covered an entire split, Unlocked (previously known as META) gave Rose a shot by allowing him to be a guest during their 2021 LEC Summer coverage. This in turn led to Rose casting both the Spring and Summer split of the Elite Series in 2022, with some notable appearances being the Summer Split Finals and Pro-Am offline finals in Brussels.
As of 2023, after leaving Unlocked, Rose is looking to pursue his dream of competing in the Elite Series as a player and playing with the players that he has been casting for years.
Trivia[]
- RoseBND's name is derived from the tattoo on his arm. It is a band of roses, hence RoseBND. The A in band is left out for much needed edgyness and the letters BND are pronounced seperately.
- He is known for his love with the champion Aphelios. Rose was not allowed to play Aphelios during his first collegiate season, as his skill on the champion was not proficient. It has since been his mission to prove the doubters wrong.
- He has one tricked Vayne for the first 5 years of playing League of Legends
- He has never mained a different role other than ADC, even after playing the role for ten years.
- It took him, even as a professional caster, ten years to find out Gangplank can upgrade his ultimate.
