Roar is a Chinese challenger team. For the Korean AD carry, see Roar.
History[]
In September 2014, Froskurinn and Mirkie began talent scouting for a team that would attempt to qualify for the 2015 North American summer LCS split after training in China. In November, the team began to assemble players, originally under the name A1pha. Chaox, Yuno, and Inori joined as North American players, and in December Xiasu (previously RalnesYoga), formerly of Energy Pacemaker and Lactea, formerly of Midas FIO and PaiN Gaming joined the team, and they assembled in China to bootcamp there.
On December 19, the team was officially announced under the name Roar.[1]
In January 2015, the team returned to North America and underwent a roster change: top laner Lactea was replaced by PhaseKiller. Additionally, Xiasu renamed to Spicy, and Yuno renamed to Mizore.
With this roster, Roar competed in the NACS 2015 Spring Qualifier, but were knocked out by Cloud9 G2A in the first round.
In late February 2015, the team disbanded. On April 23, Roar reforms with Spicy and Chaox returning as Mid and AD Carry respectively. They were joined by three Chinese players: Yao, XiaoFeng, and SupportdogLONG. They intend to compete in DouYuTV's CN league and the next TGA.
