Biography[]
Robert grew up on the Super Nintendo playing classic games like Donkey Kong Country. He started playing MOBAs fairly young when he and his cousins began playing DotA. He later transitioned into Heroes of Newerth and played that for awhile before his girlfriend at the time, who hated HoN, led them both to start playing League of Legends. Robert became adept at the game with his MOBA history, having him focus on playing AD champions. This eventually found himself being recruited to play for Ordinance Gaming as his first introduction into the competitive scene in May 2012. Robert left the roster after a few months and moved to his next team, Absolute Legends NA where he achieved a great career highlight of placing 2nd at the international event, IEM Season VII - Global Challenge Singapore in November 2012.
On December 23, 2012, George "Zekent" Liu admitted on Reddit that his team, Absolute Legends, had used ghosting to cheat in their first game in the IPL Online Qualifier against Team Dynamic, stating "We know that it was wrong and we feel obligated to formally post an apology before **** hits the fan.". Absolute Legends lost the BO3 against TD.[15][16]
On January 3, 2013, Riot Games announced on their community forum that ROBERTxLEE and his teammates Johnny "Unstoppable" Tran, Nicholas "Nubbypoohbear" Harlan and George "Zekent" Liu had been disqualified from participating in the Riot Season 3 North American Ranked 5v5 Online Qualifier and final Offline Qualifier.[17]
The team however disbanded shortly after their tournament placing, in which Robert continued to play solo queue and focus on school and streaming. He re-entered the competitive scene by joining FXOpen e-Sports in March 2013, which quickly became a formidable Challenger team, winning 2013 MLG Spring Championship Promotion. Robert and his teammates left the FXO organization in July to become To Be Determined.
2015 Preseason[]
On November 3, 2014 it was announced that CompLexity was forming two rosters, coL.White and coL.Black. ROBERTxLEE joined coL.Black along with I KeNNy u, Xmithie, pr0lly, and Bubbadub, qualifying for the Spring Expansion Tournament via compLexity's promotion tournament participation.[18] After a bye in the first round, the team lost 0-2 to Final Five in the second round of the online portion tournament and were eliminated.
On November 25, ROBERTxLEE announced his retirement from competitive League of Legends.[19]
2015 Season[]
On April 27, 2015 ROBERTxLEE announces coming out of retirement and desire to play again competitively.[20] However, he didn't join a new team.
Trivia[]
- One of his first gaming names was "LiLaZnBoi1992" but in DotA, his cousins would use their real names, making Robert to eventually change his handle to his real name.
- He thinks that Doublelift, Chaox, Aphromoo and Nientonsoh are the best AD carries in North America
- Used to simultaneously have three accounts in the Challenger tier, ROBERTxREE, ROBERTxgLEE, and ROBERTxGEEGEE. He also has multiple Diamond smurfs which include but are not limited to: ROBERTOxLEE, ROBERTxNOOB, and ROBERTxFLEE.
- On March 27, 2013, he fell down the stairs and suffered from amnesia, losing many memories of the past 6 years of his life. [21] He was ready to quit the game due to losing his skill, but his parents convinced him to keep playing. He has since then recovered from the accident and regained most of his memories along with his skill. [22] [23]
- Known for building Zhonya's Hourglass on AD carries.
- Robert's Twitch stream has become popular as of late.
- Wanted to be a mechanical engineer but realized he did not enjoy it and changed his major to business marketing.
- Known in the past to troll and pick Blitzcrank every game.
- On July 12, 2014, set the record for most CS in a competitive game - 719 on Lucian in a 80-minute-long victory over Team Curse in week 8 of the 2014 NA LCS Summer Split. The previous record holder was Easyhoon with 703 on Ziggs, and the record was later broken by CoCo.
