Biography[]
Philip was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He began playing League of Legends in Season 3, when he was 10 years old. For years he competed in minor amateur tournaments on a wide variety of teams, finding only middling success.
2021 Season[]
In 2021, Philip began attending the University of British Columbia before being discovered in solo queue by FlyQuest assistant coach Richard. Richard, while noting a lack of game sense and laning fundamentals, saw potential in Philip's "creative mindset" toward skirmishes.[27] After FlyQuest traded starting top laner Licorice and promoted academy top laner Kumo to the LCS roster, Philip joined FlyQuest Academy for the last three weeks of the regular season. The team was already in first place when Philip joined and remained that way with the addition of multiple demoted players from the LCS roster. However, the team performed poorly in academy playoffs and Proving Grounds, exiting early from both tournaments.
2022 Season[]
Philip remained on FlyQuest Academy going into the 2022 season. In spring, Philip and the team saw middling success. In the summer split, however, Philip was unexpectedly promoted to the LCS roster to replace Kumo. Despite being seen by fans and commentators as a downgrade due to his unimpressive academy performances, Philip improved rapidly and became a suitable part of the LCS roster. In playoffs, though, the team underperformed, being eliminated early in an upset loss to the struggling TSM and ending Philip's season.
Trivia[]
- His favorite anime is Rent-A-Girlfriend.[28]
- Because of this unorthodox favorite, fans sometimes refer to him as "Mr. Rent-A-Girlfriend".
- Was once accidentally solo killed by Faker.
