Biography[]
2016 Season[]
In 2016 Nguyễn Palette Hải Trung (known at the time as Suicunee) was hired as a trainee support with Tsu as the starting support and RonOP as substitute for IEM 11, Palette would not play for Saigon Jokers before the team was disbanded at the end of the season.
2017 Spring[]
At the end of 2016 Palette, with the ID Trung, founded Young Generation alongside players from two disbanded organisations Saigon Jokers and 269 Gaming, the team successfully qualified in the VCS Spring Promotion by defeating Cherry Esports 2-0.
During the 2017 VCS A 2017 Spring Season Young Generation was a clear 2nd place, winning four more series than the 3rd place team, but having a 1-4 record against GIGABYTE Marines. Therefore their 2nd place finish after being defeated by GIGABYTE Marines 3-0 in the Playoff Final was an expected result.
Due to The Marines success at 2017 MSI Vietnam was awarded and an additional place in the 2017 Season World Championship for Southeast Asia, Vietnam was rewarded two spots for 2017 GPL Summer.
2017 Summer[]
Before the split Nguyễn Hải Trung changed his competitive ID from Trungg to Palette.
In the VCS Summer Season Young Generation had another successful split, finishing second and being the only VCS team to defeat GIGABYTE Marines in a Best of 3 series.
In the VCS Summer Playoffs defeated Friends Forever 3-1 in the 2017 VCSA Summer Playoffs round 2, but was again defeated 3-0 by GIGABYTE Marines in the final, finishing in 2nd place and qualifying for the 2017 GPL Summer Group Stage.
At the GPL Young Generation scored 7-1 in Group Stage, losing only in the teams first game against the Kuala Lumpur Hunters and finished at 1st place.
In the Semifinal they faced the seeded Ascension Gaming from Thailand and lost 2-3. They defeated Team Manila Eagles from Philippines 3-0 at Losers' Bracket round 1 and faced Ascension Gaming again at in the Losers Bracket Final, for the 2nd place at Worlds.
Although Ascension Gaming had won the first 2 games, Palette's play was pivotal to Young Generation completing a reverse sweep and qualifying for the 2017 World Championship Play-in Stage.
In the play-ins Palette faced Fnatic and Kaos Latin Gamers, again the team underperformed in their first game, losing to Kaos Latin Gamers as the bot lane fell over 20 cs behind before 8 minutes despite receiving more help from the team and being unable to convert their 2.4k gold lead into a victory. Despite this Young Generation qualified 2nd from their group without a tiebreaker as they defeated Fnatic in a game where Palette achieved a perfect KDA and was heavily praised by the English casters for his skill and aggression. Palette successfully killed EU LCS MVP Rekkles twice in the 2v2 matchup, gained a 30 cs lead and destroyed the bot lane tower before 12 minutes.
However, in the 2nd round of the play in stage Young Generation were defeated by China's Team WE 3-0.
At the end of the year Palette's Young Generation was nominated for a WeChoice Award as an inspirational Ambassador and won a place in the Top 10 inspirational characters with 53297 votes.
2018 Season[]
Young Generation maintained the same starting roster along with adding H.Phong as a coach however despite a strong 5-2 in the first half of the 2018 Spring VCS a 3-5 second half of the split limited Young Generation to 4th place, and with momentum against them they lost 3-1 against GIGABYTE Marines.
The Young Generation rebranded to Phong Vũ Buffalo, and with a new Top Laner and two new Junglers joining the team (Zeros, Meliodas (Hoàng Tiến Nhật) and XuHao) in the team dominated the VCS 2018 Summer finishing 1st with a 12-2 record, they defeated EVOS Esports 2-1 in the Final and represented Vietnam as an independent region at Worlds 2018 Main Event. Although the team failed to make it out of group finishing 4th with a 2-4 record, they still managed to bring Flash Wolves home with them due to defeating Flash Wolves to grant G2 Esports and tiebreaker that they would win, creating the 'Thank Mr Buffalo' meme.
2019 Spring[]
Phong Vũ Buffalo retained their roster from the previous season. They proved their strength by winning VCS 2019 Spring with even more dominance with a 13-1 record and 3-1 in the final, thereby representing Vietnam coming to 2019 Mid-Season Invitational and for Rift Rivals 2019 LCK vs LPL vs LMS-VCS.
The Buffalo started the group stage with three wins before Bombers and 1907 Fenerbahçe took games off of them in the second round of the round robin. Fenerbahçe also finished 4-2 to force a tiebreaker game, which Phong Vũ won to advance to the knockout stage.
Team Liquid swept Phong Vũ to send the Buffalo to face off against Vega Squadron for the final MSI Main Stage spot. The Buffalo jumped out to a 2-0 series lead before Vega took games three and four to tie the series. The fifth game was a back and forth affair before Phong Vũ aced Vega to give the team the lead it needed to win the game.
Phong Vũ was unsuccessful in the main stage of MSI until it faced G2 on day three where the Vietnamese squad won its first game of the round robin. Phong Vũ won again versus G2 on day five, but could pick up no other wins and left the tournament after a sixth place finish in the group stage.
2019 Summer[]
Before the summer split, Phong Vũ Buffalo renamed to Dashing Buffalo to match their new sponsor. Additionally star Top laner Zeros left the team, without their star player the team struggled with new top laners Raizo and Kaido the team finished 4th with a 8-6 in the VCS Summer Season and lost 0-3 in the first round of Playoffs to Lowkey Esports.
At Rift Rivals the PCS-VCS team disappointed, with a combined 0-11 record and with a individual team record of 0-3.
2020 Spring[]
After the disappointment of the Summer split Palette left the team to join GAM Esports.
GAM Esports dominated the VCS 2020 Spring Season, finishing 1st and only losing one series. The team had a 27-5 only losing more than one game to Team Flash.
Due to the teams domination, and with Yoshino being unable to play due to illness GAM Esports was expected to win the Spring Playoffs, however despite having a 5.6k gold lead at 18 minutes in game 5 they would lose 3-2 to Team Flash.
