Remigiusz "Overpow" Pusch is a League of Legends esports player, previously substitute mid laner for Illuminar Gaming.
Biography[]
Overpow is a professional League of Legends player from Poznań, Poland. He first played Heroes of Might and Magic III with his brother, before he moved to Counter Strike. After years of playing the first-person shooter (CS 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and CS:Source), he tried his hand at WarCraft III. Because of his skill at the game, Overpow prioritized playing custom-made maps over WC3, which led him to playing Defense of the Ancients.
Overpow quickly emerged as one of the best DOTA players in Poland, and he participated in the 2009 Gamescom tournament. His success followed him to Heroes of Newerth, as he triumphed alongside Akke and LodA with team Online-Kingdom in multiple tournaments, DreamHack among them. When HoN's publisher's support for the eSport scene waned, Overpow began looking for another game.
Around the time of Xin Zhao's release, the Polish DotA community he was part of started playing League of Legends. Overpow found himself captivated by the solo queue environment, and he has been a staple of the European competitive scene ever since.
Season 2[]
Overpow started his League of Legends career with Time-Out, though he spent less than a month there before joining Team Acer Poland as a subsitute. He left the team two months after joining, but rejoined soon after. Within two weeks of him rejoining, the team disbanded.
Overpow next joined Patch 1.0.0.96, who's roster was picked up by EloHell soon after. Overpow got his first chance to play in a major tournament at IEM Singapore, but the team did not reach the knockout phase.
The roster left the organization just a month later, and rejoined Kiedyś Miałem Team. They were picked up one week later by Anexis eSports.
Season 3[]
Overpow role-swapped on Anexis and became the team's jungler. The team finished 2nd at IEM Sao Paolo and reached the quarterfinals of the IEM World Championship. Overpow moved back to the midlane soon after.
The team placed 1st at the Summer Promotion Qualifiers, qualifying for the Summer Promotion, where they were knocked out in the first round by Samurai in Jeans.
Overpow then joined MeetYourMakers as a substitute, but remained with Anexis's roster as well, leaving the organization and reforming Kiedyś Miałem Team and then joining Team Infused. The newly branded team won the CyberGamer SteelSeries Challenge before leaving to return to KMT once again.
After a 2nd place finish for Overpow and the team at the Gamescom Spring Promotion Qualifier behind Copenhagen Wolves, the roster left KMT to join H2k-Gaming, with whom they won DreamHack Bucharest 2013, beating the Copenhagen Wolves in the final. With H2k, the team also qualified for the Spring Promotion via the 1st WellPlayed Qualifier. The roster was then picked up by GF-Gaming, but was released just a week later. The team decided to reform yet again as KMT, and placed 2nd at DreamHack Winter 2013. Overpow and the team participated in the Spring Promotion using the spot they had earned with with H2k. The team finished 3rd in their group, and won their promotion matchup against Ninjas in Pyjamas, qualifying for the upcoming Spring Split. Overpow and the rest of the roster were signed by Team ROCCAT soon after.
2014 Season[]
The team's first split in the LCS was a success. Overpow arrived on the LCS scene with impressive early split performances (in particular his game on Kayle against Alex Ich of Gambit Gaming), earning him the weekly MVP award for Week 2. ROCCAT spent 3 weeks at the top of the standings table mid-split, but fell off slightly towards the end of the split and finished 4th behind Alliance, securing themselves a spot in the Spring Playoffs.
ROCCAT performed well in the Spring Playoffs, but lost to SK Gaming in the semifinals. The team finished in 3rd place after beating Alliance in the third-place match.
ROCCAT struggled in the Summer Split, holding a bottom-3 position for much of the split. The team eventually picked up steam, with Overpow winning another weekly MVP award during this period for another impressive game on Kayle against Alliance's Froggen. Despite their struggles, ROCCAT placed 6th overall, qualifying for the Summer Playoffs.
The team played much better in the playoffs than they had in the regular season. A quarterfinal win over SUPA HOT CREW resulted in a semifinal matchup against Fnatic. ROCCAT came close to winning the series but lost 3-2, and then lost against SK Gaming in the third-place match. The team thus missed out on qualification for the World Championship.
2015 Season[]
Overpow announced that he would be switching roles for the new season, becoming ROCCAT's top laner.
With Fnatic unable to attend IEM Cologne, Overpow and ROCCAT took their place at the tournament with Ryu filling in as a temporary substitute player for the mid lane. The team were knocked out in the semifinals, losing to Counter Logic Gaming.
Overpow and the team had an unsuccessful LCS Spring Split, finishing the regular season in 8th place, which meant that they would play in the Summer Promotion. Here, the team beat Copenhagen Wolves Academy, securing their spot in the Summer Split. Overpow then left Team ROCCAT.
