The 2015 NA Challenger Series is a six team, double round-robin league plus playoffs over an eight week period, with three weeks of qualifiers. There will be two splits, Spring and Summer, similar to the LCS. The regular split will be five weeks long with a dedicated broadcast show on Wednesday.
Format[]
- Challenger Series Qualifiers
Replacing last years Play-In, the Challenger Series Qualifiers takes place over three weeks at the begging of each split. The Spring Qualifier will feature sixteen teams from the Ranked Teams Challenger Tier ladder in four groups of four, with the top four teams joining the two pre-qualifed teams from the Expansion Tournament.
Ever qualifier after Spring will only bring in two new teams per split. The bottom two teams from the regular split compete in a unique bracket format against ten teams from the Ranked Teams ladder
- Season Split
The six qualified teams will compete in a double round-robin over five weeks. Each team will play every other on both sides with both games played during the same week. The top four teams by win-loss record will advance to the Playoffs.
- Playoffs
The top four teams from the regular season are seeded into a four-team bracket. Winners of the first round advance to play live at the LCS Studio and the losers participate in a third place match. The first round and third place match are Best of Three; Finals are best of Five. The 1st place team automatically qualifies for the next NA LCS Split, replacing the 10th place LCS team.
- Promotion Tournament
The 8th and 9th place LCS team and the 2nd and 3rd place CS team duke it out for a spot in the LCS with the LCS teams choosing their Challenger opponent. Winners of this tournament proceed into the LCS and losers are guaranteed a spot in the next Challenger Series.
