Biography[]
Samson "Lourlo" Jackson started gaming with World of Warcraft and has since played Hearthstone, Diablo, Bloodline Champions, and League of Legends. In 2012, he played on Severity Gaming, but it wasn't until 2014 that he joined his first serious team.
2015 Preseason[]
Lourlo joined Storm in September 2014 as one of the team's founding members, along with hairyabs, mandatorycloud, xPecake, and babyeator. The team was initially going to attempt to qualify for the 2015 spring LCS via the Expansion Tournament. However, Lourlo would not turn 17 until March 24, 2015. The team decided to keep Lourlo on the roster and play in the Challenger scene for one split instead.
2015 Season[]
Lourlo left Storm and later joined CLG Black after Westrice left, beginning to play for them in the second week of the NACS Spring Season. The team placed 6th and last in the season, after losing a tiebreaker game to TSM Darkness. CLG Black retained their summer season qualifier seed from having participated in the spring season, receiving a first-round bye. However, after defeating Maelstrom, they lost to Cloud9 Tempest and then to Magnetic, missing out on the NACS summer season.
2016 Season[]
In January, Team Liquid announced Lourlo as their toplaner for the 2016 NA LCS Spring Season, filling the gap left by Quas's suspension.[20] Liquid's spring split started out rocky, with an 0-2 first week and cumulative winrates of 50% or worse after each of the first eight weeks. Eventually, their new roster started to solidify, and they climbed into a fourth-place regular-season finish, behind the newly-formed and almost-undefeated Immortals, CLG, and Cloud9. Their quarterfinal series was an easy 3-0 over NRG Esports, but in the semifinals, they lost a narrow five-game series to CLG (the eventual champions). In the fifth game, Piglet was caught out in mid lane by a double-teleport from both Darshan and Huhi at the same time to the same ward and died. While Liquid were already behind in that game, it was this play that sealed the win for their opponents. In the third-place series against the tournament-favorite Immortals who had been knocked down in an upset by TSM, Liquid lost once again, this time 0-3, to finish the playoffs in fourth place overall and continuing their "fourth-place curse."
Despite Dardoch's stellar spring split performance, on May 27, he was suspended by the team for "behavioral problems and team dynamics issues" ahead of the Summer Split.[21] Liquid Academy jungler Moon was used for the team's first series instead, which they lost, and by the end of the week Dardoch was starting again, where he remained through the end of the Playoffs. Soon after Dardoch's return, Fabbbyyy was also traded to the main Team Liquid roster, this time in exchange for Piglet. This roster of Lourlo, Dardoch, Fenix, Fabbbyyy, and Matt stabilized, and the team finished in fifth place with a 9-9 series record. In the playoffs, they shook up their roster once again, substituting in Jynthe for their third game against CLG after two losses. Jynthe won his first game, but Team Liquid ultimately lost the series 3-1 and then also lost in the first round of the Regional Finals to Team EnVyUs, this time with both Jynthe at AD carry and former substitute mid laner Arcsecond jungling.
2017 Season[]
The 2017 Season wasn't very good for Lourlo. Team Liquid went into the 2017 NA LCS Spring Season with a lot of hype but failed to live up to their expectations. They finished the regular season in 9th place with 5 wins and 13 losses. They would have to attend the 2017 NA LCS Summer Promotion and re-qualified for the LCS with a 3-2 victory over Gold Coin United. Their Summer Season in the LCS was a similar story. After another 9th place finish 4 wins and 14 losses, they attended the 2018 NA LCS Spring Promotion and retained their LCS spot with a 3-2 victory over Phoenix1.
2018 Season[]
Lourlo left TL in December and joined the newly formed Golden Guardians. Golden Guardians were predicted to be one of the weakest teams in the Spring Split, in part due to being the only team to have a roster solely consisting of North American players. This prediction would prove prescient, as they were the last team to record a win and finished 4-14 despite showing some late-season improvement.
Golden Guardians got off to a much better start in the summer split than they had in the spring, matching their spring win total by Week 4 and ending Week 5 in playoff contention with a 5-5 record. However, they completely collapsed over the final four weeks, losing every one of their remaining games and once again landing in tenth place, outside of playoffs.
2019 Season[]
Lourlo left Golden Guardians and joined Echo Fox for the 2019 season. Although it originally seemed that he and Solo would be competing for LCS roster, Lourlo ended up spending all of the spring split on Echo Fox Academy. The team didn't have the best start to the split, but soon established themselves as a respectable team, eventually finishing 10-8 and in a four-way tie for third place. In the playoff quarterfinals, they were randomly drawn to face 100 Thieves Academy and beat them 3-2, but were swept by TSM Academy in the semifinals.
Lourlo stayed with Echo Fox Academy for the summer academy split. He played in all but two of their games and also played in six games for the struggling Echo Fox, but the LCS team only won a single game with him in the lineup. His time with the academy team was more successful, as although they only went 7-9 with Lourlo in the lineup, the team still squeaked into playoffs as the sixth seed. In the playoffs, they took 100 Thieves Academy to the full five games, but lost, ending their season.
2020 Season[]
Echo Fox disbanded in the off-season, so Lourlo joined the newly formed Dignitas Academy. With a roster of five players with substantial LCS experience, DIG.A were one of the most dominant teams in the spring academy split, winning their first six games and holding first place until Week 6. Although they tailed off later on and were eventually overtaken by Cloud9 Academy, Dignitas Academy still finished second with an 12-6 record. The team's regular season finish gave them a bye into the semifinals of the spring playoffs, but they were upset by Evil Geniuses Academy 3-1, keeping them out of finals.
Lourlo started the summer split on Dignitas Academy, but after the LCS team lost their first four games of the season, he was called up to replace V1per on the main roster. Lourlo ended up playing Weeks 3 through 5 of the LCS split with the main team. Dignitas only extended their loss strike to eight games in the first two weeks with him, but managed to break it in Week 5 and post their first 2-0 marker of the season. Despite that success, V1per returned to the LCS roster for Week 6, and Lourlo rejoined the academy team to start Week 7 of their split. However, with a different and more unstable roster, the academy team was unable to replicate their spring successes, and finished 8-10, in seventh place.
