The LSPL is China's secondary pro league. Like other regions' Challenger leagues, it is the qualifier to the LPL. Unlike other regions' Challenger leagues, it is fully professional. After the 2016 Summer Season, the number of participants decreased from 14 teams to 12.

- Single elimination bracket
- All matches are best of five
- Winner qualifies for LPL Summer Season
- 2nd and 3rd place qualify for LPL Summer Promotion
