The LoL Continental League (LCL) is the successor to the SLTV StarSeries, which was the Commonwealth of Independent States' premier league before Riot took over for the 2016 Season. Four teams play in promotions, the bottom 2 teams from the 2016 LCL Summer Season and the winners from the 2016 SLTV CL Summer Playoffs.
