Biography[]
Keane is originally from Korea. He moved to New Zealand in November 2013 and studied at the University of Auckland. He used to play soccer as a hobby. He first got into gaming through DotA, where he played with his friends for 4 years on the Garena server. He started playing League of Legends in Korea during season 2 when Fiora had just been released. He got picked up by Woong to play for MiG Wicked, it was here where Woong suggested that he played mid lane and so he transitioned from a top laner to a mid laner. He later left MiG Wicked before moving to New Zealand and joining Little Wraith as their mid laner. In April 2014 Team Curse acquired the roster of Little Wraith and formed Team Curse OCE where he then caught the eye of LiQuiD112 before being offered the top role for Curse Academy.
2015 Preseason[]
Curse Academy were given a seed into the Spring Expansion tournament as a result of their participation in the Promotion Tournament. With a roster of Hauntzer, Saintvicious, Keane, Cop, and Bunny FuFuu, they beat compLexity.White 2-0 in the online stage and then advanced to the live tournament, where they defeated Coast 3-1 and then Team Fusion 3-1, qualifying for the spring season. However, due to the one-team-per-organization rule, the roster was sold and became known as Gravity.
2015 Season[]
Gravity finished the spring round robin with a 10-8 record, in fifth place. In the quarterfinals, they lost 1-3 to Team Impulse and earned 10 Championship Points for the season. In the summer split, they finished each week in at worst fourth position, even holding sole possession of first place for weeks 7 and 8; however, they lost both of their games in the final week and ended the season in fourth, after a tiebreaker loss to Team Impulse. In the playoff quarterfinals, Gravity lost to Team SoloMid, leaving them with a year-long total of 30 Championship Points, and qualifying for the regional finals in fifth place. They lost immediately in the gauntlet, reverse swept by first-round opponent Cloud9, who went on to qualify to Worlds.
2016 Season[]
Keane joined new Challenger team Apex Gaming for the 2016 NACS Spring Season.[19] Apex won both the regular season of NACS and the playoffs, using both Eve and Shrimp actively in the jungle. In the promotion tournament, they were seeded first against the ninth-place Team Impulse, to whom they lost, and then against second place Challenger team Team Dragon Knights, a rematch of the Challenger Series finals. This time, they didn't even drop one game against TDK and qualified successfully for the LCS summer split.
Apex's season started out strong, with a 2-0 first week including a 2-1 upset of reigning NA LCS champions and MSI alums CLG. Their success, however, was short-lived, and by week 5 they were in 7th place, where they remained for the rest of the season, out of reach of the playoffs but also safe from relegations for the 2017 Spring Season. In September, both Team Dignitas and Apex were acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers in September 2016, to play under the Dignitas name.[20]
2017 Season[]
Keane was joined on Dignitas by fellow Koreans Ssumday and Chaser for the 2017 season. Dignitas got off to a bad start in the spring split, going 2-6 over the first four weeks, but improved after Cop was rehired as head coach, going 7-3 over the rest of the season and securing the sixth and final playoff spot. However, they were swept 3-0 by Phoenix1 in the playoff quarterfinals.
Dignitas started the summer split strong, going 5-1 over the first three weeks, only to fall to 5-5 over the next two. However, the late-season addition of Altec and Adrian in the bot lane brought the team back to life, and they went on a 6-2 run to finish in fifth place with an 11-7 record.
In the playoffs, they were matched up against Cloud9, who were heavily favored due to their second-place finish in spring. Dignitas won the first two games, but lost the third and were on the brink of losing the fourth until a clutch Taliyah ultimate by Keane bought Dignitas time to come back and eventually take the series. After dropping a 3-1 semifinals set to eventual champions TSM, Dignitas moved to the third-place match, this time as favorites against CLG. However, CLG made short work of Dignitas in a 3-0 sweep. Due to making the playoffs in both splits, Dignitas still had the third seed in the Regional Finals and a chance to make Worlds, but seeming defeated, the team dropped 3-0 to seventh place FlyQuest, ending their season.
2018 Season[]
Keane joined FlyQuest Academy for the 2018 Season, along with his former Dignitas and Apex Gaming teammate Shrimp. However, he played for the main roster for the first three weeks of the LCS spring split due to mid laner Fly's visa issues. After Fly was able to play, Keane returned to academy. FlyQuest Academy spent most of the inaugural academy split at or near the top of the standings before falling off over the last two weeks to end up in third place. In the academy playoffs, they swept Cloud9 Academy in the semifinals, then outlasted Echo Fox Academy in the finals to win the academy title.
With FlyQuest having failed to make the playoffs in the spring, Keane was moved to the LCS roster for the summer split. FlyQuest started the split 1-3, but established themselves as a solid middle of the pack team after making a change at the support position, finishing the season 10-8, in a three-way tie for third place. However, they lost to 100 Thieves and TSM in the tiebreaker matches, dropping them into sixth place, and were immediately swept by 100 Thieves in the playoff quarterfinals, ending their season without enough Championship Points to play in the gauntlet.
Keane left FlyQuest in November. Although he never officially retired from League of Legends, Keane eventually became a notable player of Riot's new game Teamfight Tactics and was signed by TSM as part of their first TFT roster.
