Karmine Corp Blue is the academy team of Karmine Corp.
History
2024 Season
Spring Split
Following the organization's acquisition of Astralis's LEC slot, Karmine Corp Blue was formed to assure their presence in the LFL. The initial roster was composed of Maynter, Lyncas, Vladi, Caliste and Fleshy. The team performed very well throughout the season ending with a final score of 13-5. In playoffs they first met BDS Academy who were seen as the best team in the league by quite a margin at this point and lost 3-0. Sorted in the loser bracket finals they acquired a 3-1 victory against Gentle Mates to climb their way to the grand finals to once again face BDS.A. This time the match went on Karmine Corp Blue 's favor, and they secured their second LFL trophy with a 3-1 victory.
EMEA Masters Spring
Karmine Corp Blue came into the tournament as LFL's first seed, the reigning champion and one of the favourites to win it all. They got through the group phase with a score of 4-2 and were matched against Geekay Esports in the quarter finals. The series was close and went back and forth, but in the end Karmine Corp Blue lost with a score of 2-3, and for the first time in the organization's history, they were eliminated from the tournament.
Summer Split
Following Vladi's promotion to the main roster and Lyncas's departure for Team Vitality, Karmine Corp Blue welcomed back their 2022 jungler 113 and recruited veteran midlaner Abbedagge. With once again a lot of expectations in the roster, the team got off to a slow start to the season, finishing 2-2 at the end of the second week, but quickly found their feet and went on a winning streak that ended with a final score of 15-3 and an 8-game winning streak. They were once again matched against BDS Academy in the first round of playoffs for what was expected to be a close call in favor of BDS.A. The series felt well prepared from the side of Karmine Corp Blue who swept the series 3-0 in a very clean fashion, and were headed to the grand finals. But this time for the rematch, BDS Academy proved themselves much more prepared and ended up winning the series 3-1, Karmine Corp Blue would then be headed to Emea Masters as LFL's second seed.
EMEA Masters Summer
The team entered the tournament with high expectations, and made it through the Swiss round without too much difficulty, losing just one game to Geekay Esports, seed 1 of the Arabian League. They met SK Gaming Prime in the Round of 16, whom they beat 3-0. In the quarters, they met their nemesis of this year 2024, and for the 5th time this year they played a BO5 against Team BDS Academy, this time the Swiss team won 3-1 and ended up winning the tournament.
Trivia
- The organization hesitated before choosing a name for its academy, initially leaning towards "Karmine Corp Pitchounes" (pitchounes is a friendly word for children in French). But it finally decided on Karmine Corp Blue, blue being associated with the structure and its fans known as the blue wall.
- As of February 28, 2024, Karmine Corp Blue is Europe's number 1 team in terms of players soloQ LP.[1]
