IEM Season IX - San Jose is the third event of IEM Season IX (second with LoL involved), organized by ESL. It took place at the SAP Center, San Jose.

The was cast by Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco, Leigh "Deman" Smith, Joe Miller, Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles, Sam "Kobe" Hartman-Kenzler, Joshua "Jatt" Leesman, and Stephen "Snoopeh" Ellis. Eefje "sjokz" Deporteere was the stage host and Rivington "Rivington" Bruce Bisland III was the desk host.[1]

- Six teams:
- 2 EU Teams (1 invited + 1 fanvote)
- 2 NA Teams (1 invited + 1 fanvote)
- 1 Brazilian team from qualifier
- Riot Latin America Cup 2014 - Grand Final Winner
- Single Elimination
- Quarterfinals and Semifinals are Best-of-three
- Finals are Best-of-five
- Matches are Played on Patch 4.20[2] with Kalista disabled and Azir enabled[3]
