Biography[]
Gosu currently lives in Toronto, Canada. He was born in Quebec, Montreal and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta where he majored in Computer Science, but took a break to focus on streaming. While playing Starcraft 2 a lot of his friends nicknamed him Gosu (highly skilled person in Korean) so he began using it as his username. He started playing League of Legends in 2009 but quit after a few weeks to go back to SC2. Gosu began playing League of Legends again and for good in 2010.
Gosu started streaming in 2012 for fun, citing Doublelift as one of his inspirations. Following the release of Vayne, he began to gain a large following online from his high elo montages and gameplay. Despite this, he chose to remain anonymous, streaming without microphone or camera.
On December 5 2015, Gosu streamed with a microphone for the first time ever. On December 31 2015, Gosu published multiples photo of himself on Twitter and Facebook.
In February of 2017, Gosu faced scripting allegations due to the way his characters appeared to path around newly placed Caitlyn traps and Zyra seeds. However, this was actually caused by a pathing bug in the game, where Caitlyn traps and Zyra seeds are treated as terrain in the moment that they are placed.
Trivia[]
- Prior to Vayne's release, he mained mid, but he liked Vayne enough to switch to the AD Carry role.
- Gosu has stated he likes to play champions with invisibility in their kit.
- He adopted two kittens named Luna and Mew in 2019.[3]
