Biography[]
RJ Pilkington was born and raised in southern California. He always loved competition his entire life. He played soccer, basketball, and baseball growing up. In high school, he joined wrestling where he experienced success as district champion. After highschool, RJ Attended Santa Ana and Sierra Community colleges. He achieved All-American status wrestling for those schools. Unfortunately, he incurred a serious back injury in his final junior college tournament. Even after months of physical therapy and attempting to wrestle for Johnson and Wales University in Rhode island, the sport proved too taxing and he had no choice but to end his wrestling career. RJ graduated from JWU with a bachelors degree in finance, and top academic honors.
RJ has played video games since a very young age, starting with Tetris, Mario, and Super Metroid. His first PC game was Diablo 2 and soon after played wc3. One of the most prominent games of Warcraft 3, DOTA, was one particular game that he enjoyed and was quite good at. RJ then played wc3 and world of warcraft casually while focusing on school and sports. In 2010 RJ was introduced to league of legends. He started off a huge noob in season 1 with a starting elo of about 800, which increased to 1200 by the end of the season. In season two RJ started playing on some casual league of legends teams and obtained platinum elo. With season 3 ending he is at Diamond 1.
RJ never had aspirations to go professional in league of legends. He always assumed that he would graduate college and start working, but within a week of moving back home and starting job hunting his current manager Charles Burch offered him the top lane position on a promising team. RJ at first declined the position, but after only being able to obtain a good job that was far away from home he decided he would like to spend more time with his family and friends before he moved on, so RJ accepted the top lane position on team vex for the time being. After mild success with the team in the 5v5 challenger league and some scrims against pro teams, a memorable one is taking some games off of TSM. RJ saw the potential in the team and decided to fully commit to it.
