Biography[]

2014 Season[]

AmazingJ began his competitive career as the top laner for YouCantStopMe. They played in 2014 LNL Winter and ended in sixth place. In February of 2014, AmazingJ left YCSM to join Energy Pacemaker.HK. They competed in the 2014 LPL Spring Regular Season but placed seventh and were relegated. Prior to Demacia Cup Season 2, the renamed themselves to just Energy Pacemaker. They lost in the first round of Demacia Cup 2-1 to Vici Stand Gaming. EP played in the 2014 LSPL Summer Season, placing third and qualifying for the 2015 LPL Spring Promotion. They qualified for the 2015 LPL Spring Regular Season by beating Energy Pacemaker.Carries 2-0 and Vici Stand Gaming 2-0.

2015 Season[]

EP played in the 2015 Demacia Cup Spring Season and lost 3-1 to Snake eSports in the round of 16. EP ended in last place in the LPL Spring Season and were forced to play in the 2015 LPL Summer Promotion Tournament. They failed to requalify after losing 3-0 to Masters 3 in the semifinals. Shortly afterwards, AmazingJ joined EDward Gaming as a substitute for Koro1. EDG played in the 2015 Demacia Cup Summer Season and won the entire tournament with a crushing 3-0 victory over OMG. EDG placed first overall in the 2015 LPL Summer Regular Season and entered the 2015 LPL Summer Playoffs as the top seed. However, they ended in fourth after losing 3-0 to LGD Gaming and 3-1 to Invictus Gaming. They still qualified for the 2015 Season China Regional Finals where they qualified for the 2015 Season World Championship as the second seed from China with a 3-1 victory over IG. EDG were placed in a group with SK Telecom, H2k Gaming, and the Bangkok Titans. They came out of the group in second place and were drawn to play Fnatic in the quarterfinals but lost to them 3-0.

2016 Season[]

AmazingJ was moved to EDG's new LSPL team EDward Esports on December 25 of 2015 when they were formed to compete in the LSPL. Despite a rocky start to the 2016 LSPL Spring Season, EDward Esports proved to be the most consistent team and finished 1st in the regular season with a 25-5 record. In the 2016 LSPL Spring Playoffs, the team was automatically placed in the final due to their regular season performance. Their opponent was Young Miracles and despite a close series, EDward Esports won 3-2 and qualified for the 2016 LPL Summer Season. EDward Esports was then sold to I May due to LPL rules.

In the 2016 LPL Summer Split, I May finished 3rd in the playoffs and lost to Royal Never Give Up. They did however win the third-place match against Team WE. AmazingJ got a second chance to prove himself at Worlds when I May qualified as China's #3 seed for the 2016 Season World Championship with a win over Team WE 3-2 in the 2016 Season China Regional Finals. With low expectations, IMay had a decent showing and finished 3rd in their group with a 2-4 record. Post-worlds, I May attended the finals of the 2016 Demacia Cup and finished 2nd, losing 0-3 to EDward Gaming.

2017 Season[]

2017 wasn't that great for I May. Although they achieved a 2nd place finish at 2017 Demacia Cup after a 1-3 loss to RNG in the finals, their domestic LPL results were poor. They finished their regular spring season in 4th place with an 8-8 record. In the playoffs they defeated Qiao Gu Reapers 3-2, however they dropped out in the Quarterfinals with a 2-3 loss to OMG. In the summer split they finished 5th place with a 5-11 record and didn't earn enough Championship Points which meant they missed their chance to attend Worlds again.

2018 Season[]

On December 17, IMay's LPL slot is acquired by Bilibili Gaming. AmazingJ, alongside Chieftain, Sks, Athena, Mole, Jinjiao, and Road join. The re-branded team placed 3 on the West Region of LPL 2018 Spring with a 11-8 score. In spring playoffs they defeated JD Gaming with a clean 3-0 sweep but lost to Rogue Warriors 2-3, ending the spring playoffs at top 8. The team placed 8 on the East Region of LPL 2018 Summer with a 6-13 score and failed to make playoffs, once again failing to make Worlds. Shortly after Worlds 2018, AmazingJ announced that he would be leaving the team and won't be participating in the LPL 2019 Spring.[18] Shortly after, however, he would be announced as the starting top laner for Royal Never Give Up amidst Letme announcing a hiatus and Zz1tai retiring from competitive play.

Trivia[]

  • His ID AmazingJ is translated from his Chinese ID 神J奇, where 神奇 means "Amazing."
  • Known as the "Garen Bro" for using GarenSquareGaren in the LPL.
  • Known for playing assassins only in his early career.
  • Considered one of the best tank players in the LPL.
  • Good friends with Avoidless and Chillyz in real life.
  • Had a miracle Teleport play against Team WE in the LPL 2016 Summer Playoffs with NautilusSquareNautilus, leading IMay to win the game and go to Worlds despite being 10k gold and 4 dragons behind[19].
