Biography[]
2016 Season[]
Wang "Feng" Xiao-Feng joined his first competitive team Team Impulse in January 2016 as their top laner after spending time in Challenger of the North American soloqueue ladder. Facing visa problems for the first few weeks of play, their roster was unstable until week 4 of the Spring Season. After some early success with their substitute rosters, especially with Seraph in top lane, TIP ended the season in 9th place, losing a 5-13 record tiebreaker to Renegades based on their head-to-head matchup.
In the Promotion Tournament, Team Impulse requalified for the Summer Season with a 3-1 win over the Challenger team Apex Gaming; however, on May 8 they were faced with a competitive ruling banning them from continued participation in the LCS due to not paying their players on time and also not having proper contracts in place with players. The team was also fined $20,000 by Riot.[15] After the ruling, Feng left the team and did not join their new organization Phoenix1.[16] Feng joined Arsenal in August as a bot laner, but the team didn't compete in any tournaments before disbanding in December.
2017 Season[]
Feng joined Echo Fox in May as a substitute support. However, although Echo Fox subbed at multiple positions in the 2017 summer split, Feng didn't play. He left the team in December.
2018 Season[]
In June, Feng rejoined Echo Fox. He was originally announced as the support for Echo Fox Academy, but was instead moved to the LCS roster and didn't end up playing a game for the academy team. Feng played Weeks 2-5 of the summer split with Echo Fox, and the team went 4-4 with him in the lineup. However, at the end of Week 5, Feng was traded to Cloud9 Academy as part of a roster shakeup that saw Echo Fox make changes at three different positions. Feng played out the academy split with C9A, who had an 11-1 record at the time he joined. With Feng in tow, they continued that pace by posting 5-1 score over the rest of the split to finish in first place. Seeded into the playoff semifinals, Cloud9 Academy dispached FlyQuest Academy and CLG Academy to win their second straight academy championship, both by identical 3-1 scores. Feng left the team in November. This would be his last competitive experience, and he eventually retired.
Trivia[]
- His ID Feng is based on his given name (Xiao-Feng).
