The 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) is a global multi-esports event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This marks the 4th season of the Esports World Cup since its inception under the name Gamers8 and the 2nd consecutive season where League of Legends is one of the featured titles at the event.
Overview
Format
- 12 teams are invited:
- EWC 2024 Champion
- 2 from Korea
- 2 from China
- 2 from EMEA
- 3 from Americas
- 2 from APAC
- Top 4 teams from MSI 2025 start in the Knockout Stage, the remaining 8 teams start in the Group Stage
- Group Stage
- GSL Group Stage
- All matches are best of one
- Top 2 teams of each group advance to the Knockout Stage
- Knockout Stage
- 4 pre-qualified teams plus 4 qualifiers from the Group Stage
- Single elimination bracket
- Quarterfinals and Semifinals are best of three
- Finals is best of five
