Biography

Monica Avilés is a Mexican host and caster, native from Mexico City. She started her career at the LAC 2014 Grand Finals as a Jinx cosplayer, where her love for esports sprouted showing great interest in the League of Legends community.

After quite some time participating in tournaments within the semiprofessional scene, she continued building herself as a public figure, something that led her to collaborate in several campaigns for teams and tournaments while being invited to multiple events, where she developed further in different roles. On the road, she became a community leader to ecology for Blizzard's Overwatch, got to be a Riot Games brand ambassador, and became the host of a TV show focused on gaming.

All this paved her way as a professional caster for LVP in 2019, where she developed even more her casting skills and as a content creator as part of the División de Honor broadcast team. In 2020, she was invited to be the host of Actualizando, the League of Legends biweekly news show produced by Riot since 2017.

Despite focusing more on her work as a public figure, she never stopped competing in tournaments with her biggest achievement coming during her time with XTEN Esports, as in 2020 she won the Girl Power tournament, the first all-women VALORANT tournament ever made in Latin America, organized by Logitech.

She is currently a play-by-play caster in the VCT Game Changers circuit, one of the biggest VALORANT championship series created by Riot Games and GGTech, focused on promoting women in esports. As part of its introduction to the game's ecosystem, she had the chance to collaborate with Nivea on a special campaign that expanded throughout the span of 2021.
