Eintracht Frankfurt is a German team. It is the esports division of the German sports club Eintracht Frankfurt, most known for their football club that plays in the German Bundesliga.
History[]
The Esports division was originally founded in January 2019 when the club entered the competitive FIFA scene by entering into the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL). In January 2020, the club decided to step into the competitive League of Legends scene after previously only supporting non-competitive teams. They were the first Bundesliga club to offer a special Esports membership as part of the club membership.
Going into the 2020 Summer Season, the club also formed an academy team out of players from Frankfurt and its surrounding county, which managed to qualify for the 3rd division of Prime League. After failing to qualify for the 1st Division Summer Season, the main team managed to qualify for the 1st Division Winter Season by beating Sparx Esports 2:0 in the final match of the Winter Promotion.
