Overview
The 2017 EU League Championship Series is the fifth season of Europe's fully professional League of Legends league. In the Promotion Tournament four teams will compete in a double elimination bracket. The two winners of qualifying round matches will advance to the Summer Season. Teams eliminated from the bracket qualify for the EUCS Summer Season.
Format
- Four teams participate
- Double elimination bracket
- All matches are best of five
- 5th placed teams from LCS Spring Season
- Winners from EUCS Spring Playoffs
- The team that won the head-to-head during the LCS Spring Season will select their opponent from the two Challenger Series teams
- Teams that don't qualify for the LCS are seeded into the EUCS Summer Season
