eSports Cologne e.V. is a German eSports organization based in Cologne, Germany. They were previously known as eSports Cologne GAMERS ONLY and eSports Cologne CBS.

History

In 2019, two other universities (Cologne Business School and TH Köln) founded their own eSports initiatives at the same time, each of which registered for the Uniliga with a team in League of Legends and a team in Overwatch. Thanks to the efforts of Marius Loewe, the three universities were able to contact each other to discuss setting up a joint project.

Just in time for the winter season 2019/2020 of the Uniliga, eSports Cologne was founded as a new organization. It consisted of five founders from the different universities. Within a very short period of time, five teams were brought together to play a variety of games, so that the latest Cologne instances could be directly demonstrated in various areas of the Uniliga.

Today, eSports Cologne has more than 1900 members and is a registered association since December 8, 2020. The club has become one of the largest eSports and gaming clubs in Germany within one year.
