Biography[]
Lee "Crown" Min-ho is from Korea.
2014 Season[]
In June 2014, Shadow moved to Brazil to play for Team 58ers along with fellow Korean jungler ReSEt. They both stayed with the team until it disbanded in September and then moved to KaBuM! Black along with Brazilian teammate Rafes. Feeling homesick, Shadow left KaBuM! in December and returned to Korea.[26]
2015 Season[]
Shadow joined Samsung in May as a mid lane substitute prior to the start of Champions Summer 2015, renaming to Crown. He shared the mid lane position with Ace and BlisS. Samsung placed seventh during the regular season and missed playoffs but they qualified for the next season of LCK.
2016 Preseason[]
Samsung competed in the 2015 LoL KeSPA Cup where they were placed against Ever in the first round. To the surprise of many, Samsung was quickly dispatched 2-0.
2016 Season[]
During the 2016 LCK Spring Season, Samsung Galaxy went 10-8 in sets overall. After looking like they could clinch the fifth and final seed for the Spring Playoffs, Samsung Galaxy were unfortunately denied by the surging Afreeca Freecs, who beat them by the game score tiebreaker, giving Samsung sixth place for the split.
During the 2016 LCK Summer Split, Samsung stayed a top four team throughout the split, notably taking a 2-0 series win against the ROX Tigers, one of two teams to do so. However consistent they were against the teams below them, Samsung rarely won against the three teams above them - ROX Tigers, SK Telecom T1, and KT Rolster. They managed to take fourth place with a 12-6 series record, seeding them into the first round of the 2016 LCK Summer Playoffs. Though they summarily defeated the Afreeca Freecs in the first round, they were matched against KT Rolster, a team who they had never managed to beat post-S4 in the LCK era, and they were swept 3-0, giving them fourth place in the season. Their accumulated points gave them enough to qualify as the second seed in the 2016 Season Korea Regional Finals. In a rematch against the Afreeca Freecs, Samsung managed to beat the Freecs 3-1, moving up to the finals in a rematch against KT Rolster. Samsung upset the heavy favorites 3-2, breaking a 19 game losing streak and giving them the third seed to worlds.
At the 2016 Season World Championship, Samsung were drawn into Group D along with NA's Team SoloMid, China's Royal Never Give Up, and Europe's Splyce.
2019 Season[]
After a difficult 2018 in the LCK, Crown joined OpTic Gaming of the LCS for the 2019 season, replacing PowerOfEvil. The change of scenery seemed to help him, as Crown played well throughout the spring split and was widely praised by fans and analysts. However, Crown's teammates were unable to match his level of play, and although OpTic remained in the playoff picture until the final day of Week 9, they never seriously challenged the top of the league and ended up in eighth with a 7-11 record.
Crown stayed with OpTic for the summer split, and they came out of the gate hot, posting a 4-0 record over the first two weeks, albeit against weak opponents. However, the team cooled off significantly after that, and only managed four additional wins over the rest of the split. OpTic's 8-10 record was still good enough to force a three-way tiebreaker for the final playoff spot with Golden Guardians and 100 Thieves, where they rose to the challenge and beat both teams, sending them to the playoffs. There, they were swept by CLG, ending Crown's season and breaking his 3-year streak of playing at the World Championship.
2020 Season[]
OpTic overhauled their roster and rebranded to Immortals in the off-season, and Crown left. After reportedly attracting attention from multiple LCS teams, Crown elected to sign with CLG, due to a desire to play under Korean coach SSONG. The 2020 season started horribly for both Crown and his new team, as CLG immediately fell to the bottom of the standings, with Crown and his teammates looking uncoordinated onstage. With the team 1-7 over the first four weeks, Crown was benched in favor of veteran mid laner Pobelter and left the team a few weeks later. Back in Korea, he joined Challengers Korea team OZ Gaming for the end of the 2020 Spring Season, but only played in four games, going 2-2 as OZ finished in sixth place, outside of playoffs.
Crown stayed with OZ for the 2020 Summer Season, splitting time with Ian. OZ finished with an 8-6 series record, good enough for third place. Crown did not play in a 3-1 defeat of RunAway in the first round of the playoffs. He returned for the second round against Awesome Spear with his team already down 1-0 in the series, but they lost the next two games and were eliminated, ending his season. In December, Crown announced his retirement.
