Biography[]

Season 2[]

Jang "Cain" Nu-ri began his competitive career on May 30, 2012 when he joined the newly formed NaJin Sword roster as the starting support. The team played in their very first OGN together at Azubu The Champions Summer 2012 where they lost 3-1 to Counter Logic Gaming Europe in the semifinals but beat Azubu Blaze 2-0 to finish 3rd overall. They earned enough circuit points to qualify for the Season 2 Korea Regional Finals as the 4th seed. They fought through the whole gauntlet, beating Blaze 3-2 in the finals to qualify for the Season 2 World Championship as the second Korean seed. They made it out of their group at Worlds but lost 2-0 to the Taipei Assassins in the quarterfinals. At the end of the season, Sword attended the 2012 MLG Fall Championship in North America. Sword came in 2nd, losing 2-1 and 2-0 in two straight sets to Blaze in the finals.

Season 3[]

The new season started off for Cain and Sword at OLYMPUS Champions Winter 2012-2013 where they beat Azubu Frost 3-0 in the finals to win their first ever OGN. They then flew to China to participate in GIGABYTE StarsWar League Season 2. Sword lost 3-0 to Invictus Gaming in the loser's finals to place 3rd. Sword returned to Korea for OLYMPUS Champions Spring 2013 where they made the quarterfinals but lost 3-1 to CJ Entus Frost. After the tournament was over, Sword and their sister team, NaJin Shield, renamed to NaJin Black Sword and NaJin White Shield, respectively. Their final OGN of the season was HOT6iX Champions Summer 2013 where they posted their poorest performance yet, failing to make it past the group stages. However, their OGN victory coupled with victories at both NLB tournaments granted them the number 1 seed in Korea and an automatic berth in the quarterfinals of the Season 3 World Championships. Black Sword made it to the quarterfinals and took eventual champions, SK Telecom T1, to game 5 but they ultimately lost 3-2.

2014 Season[]

Sword's first tournament after Worlds was PANDORA.TV Champions Winter 2013-2014 where they couldn't make it out of groups again. This trend continued at HOT6iX Champions Spring 2014 where they dropped out after the group stages for a third straight time. Change came when long time AD carry, PraY, was released, leaving Cain with his first new AD, Ohq. Sword performed much better at HOT6iX Champions Summer 2014, making it to the quarterfinals but losing 3-2 to SK Telecom T1 S.

2015 Season[]

Due to changes to the OGN rules, Sword and Shield were forced to merge to form NaJin e-mFire. During SBENU Champions Spring 2015, Cain shared the starting support position with Pure, a former sub of Shield. NaJin's poor performance during Champions ended when they placed 6th overall and missed the playoffs. NaJin placed fifth in the regular season of SBENU Champions Summer 2015 and qualified for the playoffs but they lost in the first round 2-1 to the KOO Tigers. They earned enough circuit points to make it to the 2015 Season Korea Regional Finals but lost 3-0 in the first round to the Jin Air Green Wings. However, Cain did not play in the playoffs or the regionals.

2016 Preseason[]

Despite NaJin's participation in the 2015 LoL KeSPA Cup, Cain did not play, and he left NaJin in November 2015. He moved to CJ Entus, transitioning into coaching.[26]
