Biography[]

BoxeR (also known as SlayerS_`BoxeR`) is a legendary StarCraft pro gamer who is also considered an E-Sports pioneer, having been known as the best Brood War player in the world in the early 2000s while winning two OSLs and two WCG gold medals. He founded SK Telecom T1 in 2002 as Brood War team Orion before their title sponsorship 2 years later, then went on to also compete in StarCraft II. He is currently a content creator for the organization, a pro poker player and a Korean variety television personality.

  • Nicknamed "The Emperor of Terran" for his skill with the race.
  • Earned over $100,000 in prize money during his Brood War career alone.
  • His best StarCraft II result was a semifinal appearance in GSL Open Season 2 in 2010.
  • Authored a 2004 autobiography, Crazy as Me.[4]
  • Is married to Korean actress Kim Ga-yeon (Jessica), who managed his StarCraft II team, SlayerS. The two married in 2011 secretly and welcomed a daughter nicknamed "Marine" in 2016.
  • Played Brood War for Air Force ACE while in the Korean Air Force during his mandatory military service from 2006 to 2008 after the team was created to allow pro gamers like him to compete during their service.
  • Played SonaSquareSona in a showmatch against StarCraft rival and Xenics Storm coach YellOw, who played BlitzcrankSquareBlitzcrank.[5]
