Bombers is an Australian team named after its owners, the Australian Football League's Essendon Football Club (nicknamed the Bombers).
History[]
The Bombers were announced on December 14, 2017 when Essendon became the second AFL team to enter League of Legends after their acquisition of OPL team Abyss Esports. However, unlike with Adelaide after they acquired Legacy Esports in May 2017, Abyss updated their branding alongside the acquisition.[1] The club also announced plans to relocate the team from Sydney, where the OPL is played, to Melbourne, where the club is based in Tullamarine.
