Biography[]
Ablazeolive was born in Toronto, Ontario. He began playing League of Legends during the beta, when he was 11 years old. In late 2015, he joined the North American amateur team Mentality Gaming. The team played in the HTC Ascension tournament, but did not qualify for playoffs. Later, Ablazeolive moved to the amateur team Zenith Esports to compete in the NACS 2016 Summer Open Qualifier, but failed to qualify in this tournament, too. In June 2016, Ablazeolive joined Nova eSports, a new team that purchased Ember's NACS Summer Season seed. The team placed third in the regular season, but was eliminated 0-3 in the first round of playoffs by Team Liquid Academy. After being eliminated, the team disbanded.
He took part in the 2017 NA Scouting Grounds, playing for Team Mountain Drake, and was drafted 7th overall by TSM. He later joined TSM Academy and remained with the team for two years. His 2019 season was particularly successful, finishing 1st in the Spring Playoffs. At the beginning of the 2020 season, Ablazeolive moved to Golden Guardians Academy.
2021 Season[]
After five seasons in the Challenger and Academy scene, Ablazeolive was finally promoted to the Golden Guardians starting LCS spot at the beginning of the 2021 season. The Golden Guardians squad contained numerous other rookies, including Niles and Iconic from Maryville University. The team struggled during the spring split, but after some mid-season substitutions, managed to make it into the LCS 2021 Summer Playoffs. Ablazeolive performed well during the summer and was the runner-up for the 2021 LCS Rookie of the Year (losing to Danny).
2022 Season[]
Ablazeolive remained on Golden Guardians for the 2022 season. The new roster seemingly upgraded with imports Pridestalker and Olleh, but was not able to find success during either split. Near the end of summer, a struggling Ablazeolive was briefly demoted in favor of European import LIDER, but returned to the starting spot after only a week. In playoffs, Golden Guardians managed to take the heavily favored CLG to five games, but ultimately lost the series and was eliminated in the first round.
2023 Season[]
At the beginning of the 2023 season, after three years in the Golden Guardians organization, Ablazeolive joined Immortals.
Trivia[]
- His ID Ablazeolive originated from an Xbox random name generator.
- His ID is often jokingly abbreviated to "Ablolive" by LCS casters and analysts. The abbreviation originates from an episode of This or That.[20]
- His hobbies include chess, sudoku, and crosswords.
