The 2021 Season World Championship Play-In (Worlds 2021 Play-In) is the first stage of Worlds 2021, the conclusion of the 2021 League of Legends esports season.

- Teams are drawn into two groups based on seeding
- Single Round Robin
- Matches are best of one
- Top team from each group advances to the Main Event
- 2nd to 4th teams from each group advance to Round 2
- Knockout Stage (Round 2)
- 3rd place teams from the group stage face the 4th place team from the same group
- Winners of these matches face the 2nd place team from the opposite group
- Winners of these final matches advance to the Main Event
- Matches are best of five

However LNG counter-picked with Gragas and it seemed to work. LNG’s Tarzan spent a good bit of time botside while HLE’s Willer tried to get his lanes ahead. While this sacrificed objective control this paid off when it came to team fights and allowed LNG to get control of the game.
HLE got a few picks when LNG was caught out or stepped up too far but in the end as the teams grouped up it was LNG who would ultimately win the team fights and clear the jungle and objectives. After their second Baron LNG marched into the base and took game 1. |

The Lucian with Nami combo had the casters were assuming it would be Electrocute Nami but at load it would show in fact to be Guardian Nami. INF would sneak the first drake and win out on the early fights taking a marginal but early lead.
INF mid game would keep getting caught out and RED punished them every single time for it allowing them to take the lead despite INF having three uncontested drakes. INF would keep getting caught out either from RED Grevthar or Jojo leading to RED getting a much needed Baron and two Cloud Drakes. With a near complete wipe RED Canids would push into the base and quickly take their first win at Worlds. | ||

LNG goes on the offensive from the get go targeting toplane. LNG Ale goes up 2/0 in kills before 8 minutes and gets three turret plates as well thanks to Tarzan spending a bit of time topside. PCE Babip trades these for first drake to try to keep the gold gap to a minimum but LNG is really pushing this by a 2k lead before 10 minutes. As we approach the mid-game PCE is down by 4k gold, LNG Ale is up 4/1 and the biggest threat on the map at this point. PCE Babip attempts to get some picks but dies before his full combo can go off, LNG rotates on point each time to get objectives and push waves extending their gold lead to almost 10k. After the 21 minute mark PCE lands a perfect combo with the Amumu/Galio ult and win a team fight but despite this LNG is able to fend them off and push PCE back into their base. With a 11k gold lead entering the last fight LNG ends with a clean ace, ignores the spawned Baron and ends the game moving on to 2-0. |

Early game both teams are playing less aggressive than they have previously, mostly a farming/scaling plan for the first several minutes. INF tries to sneak the first drake but the rotation is noted by HLE Deft and Vsta, INF does take the first drake but gives up 2 kills in doing so. Early on HLE is up 2k gold. On the reset HLE Willer grabs Rift Herald. Approaching mid-game HLE uses the Rift Herald to get the first turret botside and after a 1-1 trade topside with INF Buggax, HLE Morgan helps HLE get a 4k gold lead. After getting the second drake of the game HLE moves to prevent INF from getting Rift Herald. HLE almost prevents INF from getting Rift Herald but INF gets a complete ace and gets the objective. This cuts their gold deficit by 1k. Entering late game INF is only down by 2k gold after some successful team fights, HLE steps up too far getting caught. As fourth drake of the game spawns INF tries to take out HLE Vsta but lose a the team fight. HLE gets the drake and then another tower and Baron extending their gold lead to 6k. On the game end HLE separated INF in their own topside jungle, HLE Morgan and HLE Deft chase INF Buggax and Ackerman across the map while HLE Chovy ends the game with minions. HLE moves to 1-1 and INF falls to 0-2. | ||

Early game teams are mostly farming up, DFM Steal paths top to help DFM Evil get first blood. UOL AHaHaCiK makes appearances in lanes to zone off dives/alleviate some pressure. DFM gets a slight gold lead (almost 1k) after a three man dive mid but as UOL Boss gets turret plates it evens out. UOL AHaHaCiK uses Rift Herald top to clear out both lane turrets. DFM Steal takes the first drake in response, but DFM is behind by just over 1k gold moving to mid-game. Into mid-game UOL is up by 2k and picks up the second Rift Herald of the game. DFM is able to get a pick on UOL SaNTaS and secure the second drake of the game and decrease the gold lead by 1k as UOL uses the Herald mid to get a turret. Nearing late game DFM clears out jungle camps and gets a pick on UOL Nomanz tying up the gold. UOL takes the third drake to try to regain the gold lead but DFM is able to win the team fight and clear out more of UOL camps to take a 1k gold lead into late game. DFM is able to take out UOL Boss, Nomanz and Argonavt, and zone AHaHaCiK and SaNTaS wile they take Baron and move their gold lead to 4k. On the rest DFM takes the fourth drake of the game and move up Baron empowered minions botlane and midlane. DFM baits a team fight at the fifth dragon and almost get an ace at the pit. UOL leaves the fight with only Nomanz and SaNTaS alive, DFM chases them down and takes the second Baron. DFM rushes into the base to take another ace and push Baron empowered minions in the base to close it out go DFM starts off 1-0. |

Early game GS Crazy & GS Mojito dive BYG PK after GS Bolulu teleports in. BYG Maoan counter teleports in but PK dies as does Maoan but not before getting a return kill on Crazy. After this GS gets a 1k gold lead by 5 minutes. At the 9 minute mark the same three dive top again and again Maoan is late teleporting in response. This time Mojito drops Rift Herald and GS takes first turret as they enter the mid game. BYG gets the first drake in response but is still down by 2k gold. Entering mid game BYG takes the second drake, postures for a team fight but backs off still down by 2k gold at 14 min. As BYG takes their first turret GS takes the second Rift Herald. Both teams use mid game to clear camps and farm up, as they near late game BYG starts the third drake of the game but GS Zergsting uses Tempered Fate to stall and GS steals the drake away and nearly aces BYG. GS extends their gold lead to almost 3k going into late game. BYG catches GS Crazy out but is unable to get ahead in this team fight, it ends three for three but BYG lessens the gold lead to 2k. BYG takes the fourth drake of the game but the following team fight does not go in their favor. After a near ace GS is able to take the first Baron of the game and extend their gold lead to almost 4k. At the 32 minute mark GS sits on a 6k gold lead and is looking for one final team fight to try to finish this game. BYG beings Baron at 33:20 mark and GS Crazy teleports in behind and gets a 3 man ult down. GS gets a clean ace and ends the game with a 10k gold lead. | ||

Early game C9 and DFB do some light trading back and forth, C9 Fudge and Blaber attempt to dive DFM Evi but are unable to get anything. With the attention topside C9 rotates up to get scuttle, after this C9 Perkz, Vulcan and Zven dive DFM Aria for first blood. By 6 min C9 has a 1k gold lead. 8 min mark C9 dives DFM Evi again, this time getting a kill and setting him back by almost double C9 Fudge CS. Entering the mid-game C9 Fudge dives Evi solo and trades kills with him. DFM Steal takes the Rift Herald at the 12 min mark and drops it midlane, they get 3 plates from this but C9 wins the ensuing team fight two to none and extend their gold lead to 3k. As DFM goes for a reset at the 14 min mark C9 goes for Rift Herald and drops it midlane to get the first turret of the game and simultaneously take the second drake of the game. C9 sits on a 4k gold lead at 16 min. Entering late game DFM tries to bait Baron but C9 Fudge solos the third drake of the game pushing C9’s gold lead to almost 5k. DFM tries to catch C9 Fudge but end up losing the fight three to none allowing C9 to get the first Baron of the game. At the 23 min mark their gold lead is at 8k. C9 walks Baron empowered minions into the base and take 2 turrets and 2 inhibitors. 26 min mark C9 tries to siege DFM base but are unable to get anything topside. After a one for one trade they disengage and secure the fourth drake and take infernal soul extending their lead to 9k gold. C9 walks another wave of minions into DFM base to close out the match and move to 1-0, DFM falls to 1-1. |

Early game both teams are farming up, some light trading taking place but no one has gone all in. Heavy trading taking place between GS Bolulu and UOL Nomanz but no real fighting, GS gains a slight 1k gold lead from csing. 8:30 mark GS takes the Rift Herald. Following this GS drops Rift Herald top immediately going into a team fight. GS comes out slightly ahead three to two and sit on a 2k gold lead at 9:45. On the reset GS takes the first drake of the game and shortly after the second one spawns the take that one as well going into mid game. Mid game begins with GS taking another clean team fight three to one and GS Alive takes bot side turret extending their gold lead to 5k at 12:30. UOL try to catch GS Mojito out but as they chase him they run into the rest of the GS team who take two more kills. On the reset UOL take the second Rift Herald but are down by 7k gold. GS pushes mid at 16:30 and end up with a three to two trade winning another team fight. On the reset they take the third drake to position themselves for a 22 minute soul. Entering late game GS resets after UOL drops Rift Herald mid to take GS botside turret. GS clears topside jungle to maintain their gold lead. 22:00 mark UOL clears vision of dragon pit as the fight breaks out, GS secures fourth drake and soul and win the fight two to one. UOL Nomanz barely escapes and is able to execute on a tower. Despite this win UOL close the gap on their gold deficit down to 5k by getting shutdowns during the previous fight. GS takes the first Baron at 26:40 and pushes their gold lead to 9k. 28:00 mark GS walk in two lanes of baron empowered minions to close out the game with a 13k gold lead and move to 2-0 while UOL falls to 0-2. |

Early game starting HLE Deft and Vsta go in at level 2 on PCE Violet and Aladoric, only exhaust is burned on the side of HLE. PCE Tally overstays trying to keep up with CS and dies to HLE Chovy at 3:15 for first blood while PCE botlane is getting shoved away from tower. At 4 min HLE has an almost 1k gold lead. Junglers on both teams haven’t ganked yet, clearing camps and setting up vision. 8:00 HLE Vsta lands a bandage toss on PCE Violet who flashes with him under tower, PCE Violet and Aladoric are able to kill Vsta but HLE Willer rotates to help kill both PCE Botlane. In exchange PCE Babip takes Rift Herald and then HLE Willer takes the first Drake as we near the mid game. HLE is up by almost 3k gold at 10 min. Mid game HLE Willer returns botlane and helps Deft and Vsta pick up another two kills, as this happens PCE Babip drops Rift Herald midlane and picks up 3 turret plates. After HLE Morgan solo kills PCE Vizicsacsi HLE extends their lead to 4.5k. PCE Vizicsacsi and Babip kill HLE Willer in the toplane but soon die to HLE Deft as he rotates toplane with Vsta. HLE Willer takes the second drake and Rift Herald back to back uncontested at the 15:30 mark and push their gold lead to 5k. 18:00 mark HLE pushes mid and take a clean fight three to zero, they finish taking all the lane turrets and push their lead to 10k. As we enter late game both teams try to setup vision around Baron. PCE Talley pushes a wave toplane to get a turret while HLE Willer takes the third drake of the game. Late game PCE Babip starts a great engage and PCE wins a team fight at Baron stopping HLE from taking it but HLE Morgan solo kills PCE Vizicsacsi botlane stopping PCE from going after Baron. While HLE sieges mid PCE starts Baron and this kicks off a fight HLE takes another clean fight three to zero and takes Baron while PCE tries to take the fourth drake. HLE is able to show up in time and prevent this and they take it instead. At 26:50 HLE is up by 12k gold. HLE sieges bot with Baron empowered minions, take another team fight while PCE tries to flank, clean fight four to none and end the game. HLE moves to 2-1 and PCE falls to 0-2. Moving to 2-1 HLE (along with LNG who is 2-0) cannot be eliminated from group stage having clinched their spots. | ||

PCE goes up by 1k gold. 8:30 mark PCE Tally gets collapsed on by INF Whitelotus, Ackerman, Cody and Solidsnake, the gold lead still favors PCE but is marginal by 200 gold as they enter mid game. PCE works on Rift Herald at 10 min mark but INF engages and wins the fight three kills to none. INF Buggax gets the triple kill from this. INF takes the Rift Herald at the same time and gets a 1k gold lead. On the reset PCE Aladoric, Babip help Tally and Babip gets a double kill on INF. After this PCE Babip gets the first drake of the game while INF Buggax gets a solo kill on PCE Vizicsacsi. The gold lead still favors INF but only by 500 gold. INF Buggax and Solidsnake try to get a pick on PCE Vizicsacsi, but Babip and Aladoric appear from the fog of war to turn the fight and get a clean two kills to none. PCE gets the lead back by 1k gold. Returning to lane INF Buggax gets the first turret top while INF Solidsnake takes the second Rift Herald in response PCE Babip moves to take the second drake uncontested, PCE is up by 1k as we near late game. Late game at the 20:15 mark INF wins a team fight near Baron two kills to none but PCE is able to stop the Baron play. INF Buggax tries to push botlane wave but PCE collapses and a fight breaks out at 22:15, it goes even two kills to two. PCE takes the third drake as a result maintaining their 1k gold lead. A full team fight breaks out at 25 min mark, INF barely wins this five kills to four and gets the ace. INF ties up the gold count as a result. 27:30 mark another team fight breaks out this time PCE wins it three kills to two and then turn to get the fourth drake. HLE Morgan teleports bot to help HLE Deft pick up a double kill after HLE Vsta dies to RED TitaN. HLE gold lead goes to 3k. As RED Jojo and Grevthar try to kill HLE Chovy, HLE Willer takes the second drake of the game. BYG postures for a fight mid and rotates to try to take the second Rift Herald. Both teams go back to farming up and clearing vision botside for the second drake. BYG drops Rift Herald mid at 17:35 as C9 takes the second drake, C9 wins the following team fight two kills to one and regain a 500 gold lead as they move to late game. Late game C9 Perkz catches BYG Kino out but both teams give a kill in the trade support for support. C9 Fudge catches BYG Doggo in his own botside jungle for a solo kill and is able to escape mostly unscathed. C9 is now on a 1.5k gold lead, the largest of the game so far at 21:40. RED Guigo also resets and also walks back to lane. 5:00 mark all lanes have stopped trading and are just farming, PCE Babip takes the first drake uncontested. 6:30 RED is on a 500 gold lead. 7:00 RED invades PCE botside and a fight breaks out PCE wins the fight two kills to none and tie the gold count. 8:05 RED Guigo gets caught out by PCE Vizicsacsi and Tally, RED Aegis tries to collapse but is unable to make anything happen and gives up another kill to PCE. DFM resets after drake and BYG moves to clear their camps topside. DFM moves to clear vision and setup their own at Baron at 27:15 and a fight breaks out midlane DFM win this fight three kills to none and move to take Baron. DFM gold lead goes to 9k at 28:30. DFM push Baron empowered minions botlane and take that turret at 29:45 and attempt to siege the base and a fight breaks out DFM pushes the wave in and take the fight two kills to none. At 6:10 BYG goes to take the first drake, this same time BYG Liang forces UOL Boss to back and UOL Nomanz tries to ult BYG Maoan but he flashes away. UOL AHaHaCiK takes the BYG red buff at 7:15 and is able to flash away to safety. BYG Doggo and Kino shove a wave to tower as UOL Argonavt backs, BYG Liang, Maoan and Husha dive UOL Boss and get the kill for first blood. The game moves to mid game as UOL go to take Rift Herald and BYG Doggo and Kino keep UOL SaNTas stuck under tower. 9:50 BYG Kino dive and knocks up UOL SaNTas so BYG Doggo can pick up a kill. BYG is up by 1.5k gold at 10:30. 10:45 UOL Boss and AHaHaCiK dive BYG Liang but Liang is able to turn the fight and kill both unassisted. BYG moves their gold lead to 3k at 12:20. As they move to take the second drake BYG Maoan gets caught by UOL Nomanz for a kill. BYG get bot tower at 13:30 and a fight breaks out UOL take the fight three kills to none. BYG moves to get vision for Rift Herald at 15:45 UOL matches the roam topside. BYG take the Rift Herald at 16:20 UOL tries to stop them but back off. UOL Nomanz and UOL AHaHaCiK get a pick on BYG Maoan while BYG Doggo and Kino take top turret. A fight breaks out but UOL Nomanz teleports in to clean up the fight, UOL tie it two kills to two. 18:00 BYG go to take the third drake, UOL shows up to stop them but back off and BYG take a 4k gold lead as they enter late game. UOL drops Rift Herald mid at 19:50 and push through mid turret. BYG dive bot with four and start a team fight UOL SaNTas teleports in and dies upon arrival, BYG wins the exchange two kills for none and take bottom turret. Team fight breaks out mid at 22:50 BYG picks up two kills and chase UOL topside near Baron pit. UOL turn from the chase to take Baron, UOL AHaHaCiK tries to steal Baron but dies. As BYG is taking it UOL respawns and is able to show up and steal Baron and pick up four kills on BYG. UOL takes the fourth drake after getting Baron. Despite this BYG is still up by 4k gold at 25:25. Teams focus on clearing camps and trying to farm their carries up. 27:50 a fight breaks out mid and it’s a draw one kill for one. UOL Nomanz gets caught out and a fight breaks out UOL botside jungle BYG chases and give up two kills UOL chases mid and give up a kill it’s three on three as BYG begins to chase back into jungle but back off for drake. BYG goes for Baron at 31:20 and take it, the then look to push a Baron empowered minion wave mid and take the mid turret then rotate top to do the same. BYG sets up three waves with Baron empowered minions to push and UOL attempts to respond. BYG regroups in UOL botside jungle to bait a fight and then push bot with UOL Liang mid. BYG siege at 33:43 and get bot inhibitor and then mid inhibitor and reset. BYG is up by 7k gold at 34:17. UOL setup wards around dragon pit for Elder Drake a fight breaks out mid as BYG pushes mid. GS has a 700 gold lead at 7:45. GS Mojito ganks top again for GS Crazy and gets another kill on BYG Liang, GS turns right away to get Rift Herald as they enter mid game. BYG is able to steal the Rift Herald at the last second, GS Mojito attempts to push BYG Husha back however he dies as a result. 10:50 GS take the first drake of the game and maintain their 700 gold lead. 11:30 BYG drop the Rift Herald mid and the pick up 3 plates as a result but not the turret. GS Crazy engages BYG Liang after the Rift Herald dies and is able to get a solo kill. GS Crazy pushes the wave after killing BYG Liang and gets help from GS Mojito, BYG Husha attempts to defend the turret and almost dies but gets away with stopwatch. BYG Liang teleports back to lane to fend them off. 13:00 a fight breaks out botlane GS Alive and Zergsting gets a kill on BYG Kino right away BYG Husha arrives to help and turn the fight in their favor two kills to one. GS moves on the first drake at 5:50 BYG collapse on them and a fight breaks out and win the fight two kills to none and pick up the first drake. Both junglers leave, HLE Willer goes top to help gank but BYG PK gets away and BYG Husha goes mid then bot after the gank top but will leave 6:45. HLE Willer takes BYG top jungle Krugs and engage on BYG PK and get the kill then a fight breaks out mid and BYG chase HLE Chovy top and get the kill 7:35. HLE resets and BYG take the Rift Herald at 8:40, HLE has a 2k gold lead at 9:00 as they enter late game. HLE invade to get some deep wards down on BYG botside jungle and wait to steal a buff and engage early at 1:30. HLE pushes BYG Husha off his blue buff and HLE Willer steals it. BYG PK and Liang do not swap lanes this game. Lanes are farming and some light trading, HLE is barely winning these. 3:00 BYG Husha looks to gank but backs off to try to take HLE blue buff from Willer and a fight breaks out and both disengage. HLE Willer is able to keep his blue buff and BYG Husha is forced to go back to his jungle 3:45. Lanes go back to farming and some more trading, HLE Deft gets poked way down and has to play way back 5:00. 5:35 HLE Morgan engages on BYG Liang and forces his flash. 6:15 BYG Husha goes bot to try to gank but backs off when he’s spotted out by HLE Chovy. 7:00 both junglers move top, HLE Willer gets vision down and BYG Husha gets some camps. HLE move to take the second drake at 18:20 and have a 8k gold lead as they enter late game. 19:30 BYG send Husha and PK botlane to push a wave while HLE setup wards in BYG topside jungle. 20:00 BYG get a pick on HLE Morgan botside and HLE goes to take Baron in response and back off when BYG shows up. 20:50 HLE try to catch BYG Kino who gets away but as BYG backs up HLE takes the camps and a fight breaks out behind Baron pit that goes to midlane HLE win it one for none kill and try to take Baron. 22:20 HLE kill BYG Husha and take Baron. 23:00 on the rest HLE go to BYG botside to clear the camps and setup vision for drake. 23:40 BYG send Liang topside to push a wave while the rest group up near base, HLE siege with Baron empowered minions mid and bot. PCE Aladoric gets a knock up on C9 Vulcan at 3:50, but C9 Vulcan lands a bubble on PCE Violet and get a kill on Violet. 4:40 C9 Vulcan and PCE Aladoric both go mid to posture, PCE Aladoric goes back bot but C9 Vulcan stays mid and gets picked off. PCE dives C9 Zven at 5:20 and get the kill on him. 5:50 C9 rotates top in response to Zven dying and get a kill on PCE Vizicsacsi. At 6:20 PCE Babip goes to take the first drake of the game. 7:10 C9 Blaber and PCE Babip clear their camps and get vision down. A fight breaks out botlane, PCE Babip and Tally show up to help with botlane but C9s botlane is able to back away. C9 Blaber goes to take Rift Herald in response at 8:35 as they enter mid game. C9 Perkz goes bot to help his botlane but backs up when C9 Vulcan can’t land the bubble to engage, C9 Zven and Vulcan go mid but just clear a ward and hover 9:50. 10:15 C9 Blaber drops Rift Herald mid but don’t get tower. 11:05 teams go back to farm but C9 Blaber ganks C9 Fudge and they get the kill on PCE Vizicsacsi. PCE Babip goes to take the second drake in response 11:45. 12:20 C9 Vulcan moves to PCE bot jungle to try to get a ward down but backs off when spotted by PCE Babip. C9 Blaber ganks mid at 13:15 and helps C9 Perkz get a kill on PCE Tally, then also take the mid turret. PCE Aladoric flash knock ups C9 Zven at 13:50 and gets the kill for PCE Violet. 14:40 C9 gets the scuttle crab to get vision of Rift Herald, PCE take the bot tower in response and clear out C9 botside jungle camps. C9 moves to collapse at 15:05 but will not follow up. PCE Vizicsacsi starts up Rift Herald at 15:55 C9 collapses on them for a fight, PCE gets Rift Herald and no one dies. C9 rotates bot on PCE reset to start the third drake at 17:00. PCE moves top to drop the Rift Herald and take down the top turret. 17:30 C9 Perkz gets a kill on PCE Babip topside. C9 dives PCE botlane a fight breaks out and goes even two kills for two as they enter late game. 18:40 C9 has a 500 gold lead. 19:35 a fight breaks out topside jungle and C9 Vulcan dies. 20:00 PCE moves to topside jungle again to push a wave and clear out C9 camps. PCE groups mid at 23:40 and take mid turret then rotate top river to clear vision for Baron and push top wave. C9 follows and gets their own vision in river for Baron. 24:35 a fight breaks out top river C9 wins it ace five kills to one and they turn to take Baron. PCE Tally teleports in to kill C9 Vulcan and C9 Zven giving up his own life, this stops the Baron take. A fight breaks out on the reset 26:40 and C9 gets a pick on PCE Vizicsacsi. C9 move to clear vision on Baron and it’s a one for one trade in kills. PCE move to get vision of drake. 28:00 C9 has a 1.5k gold lead. PCE take the fifth drake at 28:05. C9 moves to bait Baron and C9 Fudge stays botlane and pushes a wave and gets a turret. 29:15 teams get vision on Baron and look to clear camps and push lanes. A fight breaks out mid at 29:45 C9 wins it one kill to none. 31:00 on the rest teams again look to get vision on Baron and a minion wave knocks down the top turret in favor of C9. 32:00 C9 is up by 2k gold. C9 Vulcan and Blaber get some wards down in PCE botside jungle as PCE has to reset. 4:50 PCE Babip ganks and a fight breaks out and it’s two for two kills. 5:50 C9 is up 500 gold. C9 Blaber and Vulcan catch PCE Babip in his own topside jungle and get the kill. A fight breaks out mid 4:45 but both teams disengage.
