The World Cyber Games (WCG) is an event held annually ever since year 2000. WCG is a global tournament in which sport is conducted within the medium of cyberspace, also known as e-sports. It serves as a rapidly growing international olympics in which nearly one million players compete against one another for the title of world champion in separate events. WCG is the largest cyber-gaming event serving what is becoming the largest sports market in the world.
The World Cyber Games also serves as a gaming industry conference drawing industry leaders and technology experts as speakers and attendees to share ideas about the present and future of e-sports and their cultural relevance to society. The World Cyber Games ongoing trend of being held annually appropriately displays the growth of e-sports throughout the years.
The World Cyber Games also provides a platform for gamers all over the world to compete against one another to earn the right to be crowned the world's best. Along the way, these gamers foster new friendships amongst other gamers from all over the world. WCG has certainly brought gamers from all over the world together through one interest; e-sports.
Host City[]
The host city of the WCG 2011 Grand Final will be Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea. In bringing the Grand Final to South Korea after 8 years since 2003, WCG has made its final decision on Busan, which has been increasing its international reputation in opening many global events like film festivals and motor shows.[1]

"Busan is expected to be the hub city of games and culture by bringing WCG along with G-star," said Nam-Sik Hur, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City. "We will do our best in welcoming the international delegates for a successful WCG 2011 Grand Final."

- All teams are entered into four groups and play round robin matches
- Top two teams from each group move onto the Elimination Bracket
- All matches in the Elimination Bracket are Best of 3
